How to use the Pass the Fear database

The database is most useful when you begin with a player question, not with a long list. Use it to identify a drop, resolve an unfamiliar mechanic, compare rarity variants, or check what a run modifier actually changes.

Each archive answers a different part of that job. The notes below explain where to start, how to read records without confusing variants, and when to move from a single entry to the Build Planner.

Choose the archive that matches the decision

Start with the thing you are deciding now. Equipment archives describe individual options; progression archives explain choices that persist or unlock; reference archives clarify rules that affect the whole run.

Read variants and record counts carefully

A record count is not always a count of distinct names. Weapons can have rarity-specific versions, Tarot faces have upright and reversed outcomes, and a higher talent rank may be stored separately while appearing as a second rank on one visible node.

Move from lookup to a reproducible comparison

A detail page tells you what one record does. A build comparison asks what happens when a hunter, two weapons, parts, affixes, relics, Tarot faces, and personal upgrades are combined. Open the planner only after you have identified the exact records you mean to compare.
