Weapon-part strategy
Choose weapon parts by trigger chain, not color
A weapon part is valuable when its passive and active effects reinforce something your loadout already does. Start with the trigger words in the tooltip, connect them to the weapon's element or magazine cycle, and only then compare rarity.
The archive groups every named part family across its available variants. Reading those variants side by side prevents two common mistakes: assuming every family has a full rarity ladder and treating an active window as a permanent passive.
Separate passive effects from the active skill
Passive effects apply according to the condition written in their tooltip. Active effects belong to the part's Battle Skill and often create a short window with a different rule. Plan around when that window can be used rather than adding every displayed number to a permanent total.
- Identify what starts the passive: an element, a shot position, a reload, or another named mechanic.
- For the active effect, note duration, cooldown context, and what action benefits during the window.
Build from trigger to payoff
Read a part as a sentence: trigger, condition, then reward. A part that mentions Ignition and Final Shot wants a weapon that can create those events reliably; a large effect is less useful if the chosen weapon almost never reaches its condition.
- Match elemental terms to the weapon's actual buildup type.
- Compare magazine size and reload behavior when the part names First Shot or Final Shot.
Read every available rarity variant
Higher-rarity versions can add a new interaction or change the active skill, not merely increase one number. Some part families have several variants and others only one, so use the detail page's real variant list instead of assuming a missing Common or Mythic version exists.
- Keep the weapon's fixed effect separate from the part's passive and active effects.
- Test the complete pair in the planner before committing several relic choices to the same trigger.
